Pokémon Detective Pikachu Movie Review

Written By Jake Palid

This movie is about Ace Detective Harry Goodman who goes missing prompting his 21-year-old son, Tim to find out what happened. In the investigation is Harry’s former Pokémon partner, Pikachu, who Tim eventually finds early on in the movie and that they must be equipped to work together on this assignment.  Tim is the only human who can talk with Pikachu as they join forces together to uncover the mystery of his missing father.

Warner Bros. made the Pokémon in this movie look so realistic they used CGI for the  Pokémon and they did a fabulous job with the animation. Ryan Reynolds was great as Pikachu. What he brought for Pikachu was that he was addicted to coffee, and that was a funny add on. I felt nostalgic after coming out of this movie because I grew up with Pokemon as a kid. I played the games, collected the trading cards, and watched the tv show. I enjoyed this. And if your a Pokemon fan, I think you’ll enjoy this too. If I grade this movie, I’d give it an A- because it wasn’t a disappointment for me.
