Cold Reading Course Archives

When one of our clients obtains agency representation, they are called in for auditions typically with less than 48 hours notice. Often times, character breakdowns and sides are sent via email from their agent or manager with as many as 6 pages or more of material to rehearse just before the big audition. In the cold reading course, students will learn skills that they can not only use for their auditions, but also in their acting rehearsals, school and everyday life.
Students will learn to recognize project to project script formatting, interpret writer/director abbreviations, cold read new material, memorization techniques, time management, understanding subtext, auditioning skills, character development, cold reading with a partner, and cold reading on – camera technique.
