Acting for The Industry Course Archives

Acting for the Industry is a course dedicated to learning the ins and outs of the entertainment business and casting process. This class does include parents for students under age 18. Industry standard marketing materials will be addressed ie: Headshots, Resumes, Work Permits, Coogan Accounts, and SAG/AFTRA Memberships. Students will understand the process of getting an agent and how to create a profile on breakdown services. A distinction between agents vs. talent managers vs. casting directors vs. producers will be conveyed. Wardrobing and grooming will be covered as well as attitude, proper etiquette, handling rejection, parent behavior, goal setting and stress management. Parents will learn what they can do to help their child succeed in the entertainment business. Exercises in cold reading sides will help parents rehearse with their child at home and tips on how to increase your child’s chance of getting the callback will be introduced.
